The Six Core Competencies of Leadership will e presented as a series of six sessions - once a month for three months. They'll improve your agency's leadership effectiveness in a diverse workplace - helping deploy a skilled workforce, increase employee satisfaction, and improve service to the public. PRE-RETIREMENT WORKSHOP
- Are you wondering if you've planned well for retirement?
- Could you use a workshop which includes a Financial Planner, a Wills and Estate Planning Attorney and a Federal Long Term Insurance Partners representative as expert speakers?

The Chicago Federal Executive Board is pleased to offer a comprehensive three-day Pre-Retirement Workshop to help you figure out what will really happen to you and your retirement income under CSRS or FERS.

- October 6 - 10, 2008 (early registration - register before 8/22!)
The length of the workshop is three days for CSRS or FERS retirement groups. The cost which includes training materials and coffee each day is only $195 per person (early registration) -
Spouses may attend for a nominal fee of $25.
After August 22, 2008: $245 per person - spouses $35

Trainers
For these Workshops, former Federal Retirement and Benefits Officer and long-time trainer, Loretta Ellis, will answer your questions about CSRS and FERS, along with providing basic information Social Security.
A financial Planner will furnish you with information on ways to maximize the Federal benefits you will receive. In addition, a State of Illinois Wills and Estate Planning Attorney will answer your questions regarding wills, trusts and probate.
Finally, a representative from the Federal Long-Term Care Partners will round out this information-filled training with the benefits one can receive from this insurance program.
Besides Sleeping In, Travel, Rest, and Relaxation...WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER YOU RETIRE?
As a second part of the workshop, we have added "Retire Happy," which complements the financial planning aspects of the pre-retirement seminar. This day-long workshop focuses on life-planning: the emotional and social adjustments which are the other half of the retirement equation.
Karen H. Vierneisel, PhD., a retired Fed and founder of Lifestyle Transitions, will cover such topics as:
- Loss of work identity, and forging a new identity
- Redefining the purpose of one's life
- Finding a new balance with one's spouse/life partner
- Developing retirement options
